Medical massage is performed for the purpose of improving conditions that have been diagnosed by a physician. A wide variety of techniques are utilized to focus the treatment based on the diagnosed condition. Techniques are performed by a nationally certified, medically trained massage therapist working within the guidelines prescribed by a physician to assist with the curative outcomes.

Just What the Doctor Ordered
To request a "Medical Massage" a patient/client must obtain a prescription from their family physician or specialist. To legally treat a patient/client, a massage therapist must know what they are treating. After all, it is beyond the scope of practice for a massage therapist to diagnose, therefore, they must work from a physicians order. If your physician has a question about our intake process, please have them contact the Wellness Center.
