Our Mission The mission of the Alzheimer's Association, Northwest Ohio Chapter, is to enhance the quality of life of all persons affected by Alzheimer's disease and related disorders through compassionate, comprehensive services; effective advocacy; support for research; and access to current information and resources.
Help for those experiencing memory loss and those who care for them
Most people who are experiencing memory loss live at home and are cared for by their families, usually spouses or adult children. As the memory loss progresses, caring for the person who is experiencing memory loss can become increasingly complex and stressful.
With the help and assistance of the Alzheimer's Association, those experiencing memory loss and their family members can:
- Learn about what is causing the memory loss and what to expect
- Gain understanding and emotional support
- Build care-giving skills to provide quality care
- Learn how to reduce stress and manage lifestyle changes
- Find help for legal and financial needs
- Obtain information on care options
- Access professional and community services
- Obtain information on medical and research advances
- Advocate on behalf of themselves and others
